I would ave thought by now that a bunch of Brownie moms would have
banded together in outrage to change the name "Brownie" to
something else..... like.... Little Shits.

I hate to tell you, but it has already happened here in Canada. They
changed the name to embers because there was whining about how brown
skinned girls claimed they didn't want to join or delayed joining
because the name caused them harm. No one had the balls to stand up and
tell them it wasn't all about them and that the name came from household
demons of folk lore. It was a pretty lame excuse for not joining an
organization they probably would not have joined anyway.

It wasn't household demons. The name Brownies comes from Scottish
"faery's", although that name would piss a few people off, too.

That's not a smudge. It's from the flash. He doesn't know how to focus
or how to turn off the auto-flash.

Sending checks through the mail sounds so 20th century. How far we've come.

In the future, cooking will be done by your personal robot. The robot will be in charge of ordering food for drone delivery and cooking your meals. The robot will have all cooking shows ever made in its data banks and will be able to cook in the style of Julia Child, The Iron Chefs, Sandra Lee, et. al.

Yes, but we won't be around anymore.

One of the stories on the news here this morning is about a missing
cheque. A man in Ontario sent a certified cheque to his brother in
Quebec. That payee got the notice about the registered mail. He went to
the post office to pick it up and the cheque is missing. Since it is
certified it cannot be cancelled. The bank will issue another one but it
someone else gets the old one and cashes it, the payer will be liable
for the amount. He is not prepared to risk having to make good on a
$300,000 cheque that ended up in the wrong hands.

My mother's plumber e-mailed both of us a receipt. Easy-peasy.
We paid with a credit card. Gotta love that cashback.

The term "sweet tea" is not used here and "iced tea" is tea that has
been sweetened and usually has lemon flavor added. I was under the
impression that when Americans referred to sweet tea they were talking
about something that was syrupy sweet, but I guess it is no sweeter than
then the commercially made stuff sold here which I find to be way too
sweet for my tastes.

Canned iced tea was not available here when I was a kid. Iced tea was
typically black tea that had been cooled. It was usually slightly
sweetened and there would be slices if lemon in it. Since my mother
drank clear tea iced tea was not sugared. I prefer it unsweetened.

I don't know a thing about tortoises but I know how to Google. It's a Sulcata tortoise. I like those spurs on it feet. My guess is that it'll still be around in the year 2100 - if it's lucky.

I agreed as a condition of marriage not to have a
handgun. The only other condition was agreeing
not to use corporal punishment on any children
that we might have. *Technically*, that means
that I *could* carry a shotgun or a rifle, but she
would not accompany me on my forays into the
forest if I were toting a gun. So, bear spray/bear
horn it is.

A basic rule for married guys is to never give your wife a gun as a "present." That's just asking for trouble. Don't be like this bass player for a popular band:
