I did roasts, sauces, soups, all from scratch. I'v never made beef wellington, but I have made duck with orange sauce; I have a good orange sauce recipe if you're interested. It's a bit more complicated than usual, the usual sauce made with orange marmalade. You need to make a demi-glace etc. but the demi-glace can be cheated. === Your recipe (as well as the cheats) will be very welcome:)) You should make them for yourself too!! |

Yes, that was in the relatively brief period when most women had that luxury. > money but who liked to live the high life. The other aunt owned her own > business and never had kids. It was not unknown (but not common) for Medieval women to take over their deceased husband's business and join his guild. Cindy Hamilton |

Only a handful stayed for lunch, the rest of us went home for lunch. This was a typical middle class neighborhood in Philadelphia. Most of the mom's did not drive and very few families had two cars. Unfortunately, a tree now hides the house I grew up in but you can see the street. Most houses were nearly identical but we had a larger side yard than others on the block. https://www.zillow.com/homes/3118-Teesdale-St-Philadelphia,-PA,-19152_rb/ I'm thinking is was about the mid 60s that women started looking more for careers. Most women were underpaid and did not have skilled jobs. Many made the choice for a career over staying at home. If they worked, of course they did deserve proper pay but that is a different issue. Women should have any career choice they want and should get proper pay for it. If you want children, you should make them the priority though. |

Thomas <canope234@gmail.com>: Jun 20 12:11PM -0700 Cheaper here too to buy 2 halfs. Easier to pour in my coffee hungover in the dark at 4 am. |

I probably would be willing to pay a premium to buy three gallons instead of six halves. Cindy Hamilton |

Any of the name brand dairies that also have their milk in the coolers is $3.99 - $4.99 per gallon. Organic milk is even higher. |

(A human invariably that has a heavy foreign accent.) I understand that it is cheaper to contract tech support offshore where people will work for a lot less, but I am beginning to wonder if the long waits and the substandard proficiency in English is a tactic to reduce calls. It seems that growing numbers of people are more willing to put up with the problem than to deal with the waiting and the inability to communicate. |

(A human invariably that has a heavy foreign accent.) Yesterday I called up a company to request a software update. A machine answered and only one button push was required. A live person came up after a few seconds. We had a nice chat but I still don't like calling companies. I don't care for calling companies that answer with a real live person. Perhaps I'm mentally ill. :) |

I'll change my speech depending on who I'm talking to. The way I speak to local people might not be understandable to mainland haoles. If I spoke to a local person in the more formal mainland haole speak, they'd think I was talking weird. I'll also speak in a different way when talking to a machine. Such are the complexities of human speech. The good news is that you have no accent when posting to Usenet. Amazing how that works, eh? |
