Lightly mixed vodka drinks. Cranberry juice cocktail, grapefruit juice cocktail
or tomato juice mixed with decent, moderately priced vodka such as New
Amsterdam, Svedka or Finlandia. Another possibility is sangria.

I agree, I prefer soup to have a goodly amount of flavorful broth with
the solids. I detest pureed/cream soups. The only thick soups I like
are split pea and beef barley 'shoom.
