I won't pretend to understand the Jewish c ideas about a covenant with God, but there is a hygiene component to it. Most male boomers got the snip and have no memory of it and suffered no bad consequences. A lot the attitude was based on the horror stories that war veterans shared about comrades having had bad infections and having to undergo circumcision in their 20s. FGM, OTOH involves removal of the parts that give them pleasure and sewing thing up to make sure they can't enjoy it. |

At ante-natal classes, the obstetrition said that he was usually asked about it by mothers a few days after their son was born. He rhen told the class that we could have our daughters circumcised too. I think he got the point across. |

Our highs are in the 40's for the next several weeks. Normally we will have a burst of the 60's randomly but we are also headed to bursts of the teens. Lows are at or near freezing now. |

I have no problem with crockpot cooked pork but don't call it "Southern Pulled Pork BBQ." It's pork with a bottle of barbecue sauce poured over the cooked meat. As I stated previously, it's probably very good but in no way, shape or form is it "Southern Pulled Pork BBQ." Read again my statement about comparing a hamburger to filet mignon. |

"cshenk" <cshenk1@cox.net>: Jan 03 02:55PM -0600 This one came off rather well. I had it over rice. Next time will reduce the onions by half and double the garlic. Might up the curry too though could be they intended a hotter one than I used. MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05 Title: Curried Lentils Categories: Polkadot, Beans Yield: 1 Servings 1 c Lentils 3 c Broth or water 2 lg Onions, -chopped fine (2 cups) -divided 1 tb Olive oil 1 Minced clove garlic 1 ts Curry powder -salt to taste, if desired -(omit if using broth) In a medium saucepan, combine the lentils, broth or water, half the onions, and salt. Bring the ingredients to a boil, reduce the heat, cover the pan, and simmer the lentils until they are tender, about 30-40 minutes. Drain the lentils. While the lentils are cooking, heat the oil in a skillet, add the remaining onions and the garlic, and saute the vegetables until they begin to brown. Add them to the cooked lentils along with the curry, combining the ingredients well. Cover the pan and heat the lentils a few minutes longer. Serve over rice. However, with gin........:-) I've never really 'gotten' the lemon juice with fish. I sometimes use a lemon pepper seasoning, but not the juice. That said though, I recall a dish in the Philippenes that was tiny crusty fried crabs with vinegar and calamansi (similar to lime) as a dip. It was very good. A google shows some very like them and leads to Cambodian cooking but there are others like India and such that you see. |

Like local crabbing Gary, you can't keep them in a cooler very long so if she had good luck with the pots, might cook them all up then freeze excess. For others who may be curious: <https://mrc.virginia.gov/Regulations/VA-recreational-crabbing-rules.shtm> Technically some types are open now but for the most part, we are off crabbing season. Folks are pretty good about the limits so we have lots of the local smaller blue crabs. |
