When I tell them it is only one syllable and > not two it just goes right over their head like a low flying airplane. That's goofy. Joan is a way more common name than Joann, which is more often spelled Joanne. ************ "Mom named me Winter because I was born just after midnight on the first day of Winter. My middle name was just because she liked the sound of Winter Sue. She said it sounded all Southern, like Bobbi Jo or something. When she told me that, it made me think about Bobbi Jo, and why you could give a girl two boy names and have that be a girl name. I thought that maybe the two boynesses canceled each other out." Ann was now laughing as hard as she'd cried. "Like multiplying negative numbers." "Exactly. Eventually, though, I concluded that Bobbi Jo probably stood for Roberta Josephine, and figured that I'd dodged a serious bullet," said Winter, as she noddingly added her laughter to Ann's. ************ Among the folks who would be offended by my book, if they were to read it, would be women named Roberta. --Bryan |

My Tracfone service might cost about $100/year if that. I use data to surf the internet when I am commuting on the train, but I haven't commuted since March, so have used virtually no data. I use it for text more than anything else, and even that is not a lot, can get a 1000 texts for five bux earlier last year, still have 800 left... -- Best Greg |

In the US, it's not obvious from the number, whether the phone you are calling, is a mobile - the area codes are the same. In Europe, and I assume in Australia, mobiles/cellphones/Handys have different area codes, so the caller knows whether or not s/he is calling a landline. |

Yes, mobile phones have a different prefix and calling them is more expensive than calling landlines, unless you have free calls to both in your bundle. |

The very least a parent can do is to expose then child to appropriate role models, rather then setting them up for a life of abuse and uncertainty. |
