Perhaps. When free Medicare for all comes to fruition, I want every
dime I ever paid into it back. Then we will all have a fresh start in
the new, rosy utopia. Is there anything wrong with that idea?

Meh. I watched it in college, but all I remember is Billy the Mummy,
the robot saying "Danger Will Robinson" and the creepy doctor. Without
googling, that's it. Oh, I don't think it was in color, but I could be
wrong. I still won't google it.
Now, the new Penny seems interesting! I don't remember the old Penny.

Nobody will ever know. We can only know of what we have, not what would
have been. For non-unionized working folk and the companies that
employed them, I doubt that the ACA was a benefit.
Remember that "If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor" was a
flat out lie. Just because the media that you listen to minimizes lies
doesn't mean that they don't exist.
Nobody will ever know what health care would cost nowadays or what
benefits or detriments would be associated for the common folk without
ACA.
Having said that, people who were deemed uninsurable should have been
subsidized by all of us with a normal insurance premium to them.
Although I have no horse in the game, I find the price increase of
insulin to be outrageous. That's not a Trump thing. If you want to beat
that drum, I'll point out Epipens outrageous increase during the Obama
administration and who bore responsibility.

Other than our tax base is diminishing and our needy are increasing by
laws that help/make them that way, sometimes you surprise me. Not bad
for a expatriate Dutchman. Touché.

Are half the college-educated of below average intelligence?

Anybody smart enough to pass the SAT should be smart enough to know
that "Women's Studies" isn't a viable career option.

That said, I feel that the U.S. does a terrible job of providing a
suitable education for the non-college-bound.

On the open market they'd probably be sold for 10 to 20 percent of the going rate. That's probably pretty true with most medical goods and services. Reform of the entire system would be a good thing.

I work with a guy who used to work at a place that made medical devices.

It's all about the regulation. The records they had to keep, the stuff
they had to do to ensure they weren't going to kill anybody by accident.

The price of CPAP headgear (a bit of molded plastic) is absurd.

Why would you expect every dime back? (Not to mention that most people
under the current Medicare get much more back than they ever paid in.)

Who paid for the first generation of Social Security recipients? The
people who were working at the time. It's been that way ever since.
Same with Medicare.

That's it. It's always the loudmouthed ones that give the whole group
a bad reputation.

Plus, carnivores feel threatened by vegans and vegetarians, so they'll
use anything to put them down.

So add more sugar. I also like to enhance mine with cardamom. If it's
bland, it's because someone made it that way.

Perhaps you can't taste it, but I can. A musty, slightly astringent
flavor.

Onions that have been "french cut" and then fried:

North American
(of a vegetable) sliced lengthwise in thin strips.
"French-cut green beans"

Quite a bit has been snipped:

"My wife had picked up a package of ground lamb and we had planned to use
it for Shepherds pie."

and

"Worcestershire, ketchup and beef broth"

Beef broth, not beef.

I am not really that big of a TJ's fan like I said I get my milk from
there and they have a bag of GF tortillas that really like... I may
grab a couple of bananas they do have a great GF pie crust they also
have a pretty good GF pizza crust their eggs are a good price... all
of those thing I listed are cheaper than walmart and/or are
glutenfree. That is the only reason that I go there. I dont drink
disgusting ridiculous wine which they appear to have a good bit of,
pretty much everything else is not GF or costs more than any other
store.

I never said that it was. I just said a lot of their products are
gluten free, that is all. For instance almost all of their dairy and
cheeses and shredded cheeses are gluten free.

dude to me is a sexless description of a person, kinda like guy.... I
have known females to call their other female friends that are in a
group guys

That remains to be seen :P

Tamari is actually a raw soy sauce. Kikkoman is a cooked, GF soy sauce. I
avoid soy and don't like the taste of soy sauce or most Asian food. I do use
soy sauce in cooking. My gardener likes Asian food.

I grow onions when it's warmer here. We have a short growing season though.
So I tend to use mostly white, yellow or sweet onions.

Actually a lot of young people I know, *do* like food from Panda Express and
things of that ilk. They don't necessarily are for more authentic Chinese
food.

It would be sad if that included young people with a Chinese
background.

I'm having part of a Kaukauna cheese ball with celery for dinner. I remember
buying these a lot as a child. Also their cups of cheese. I loved the Port
Wine one. Those seem to have disappeared. And I rarely see any other cheese
balls. Central Market had some around Christmas time but they were over $8
for one ball.

I do remember making them once as a child. Rolled one in chopped parsley,
another in some kind of nuts and another in something red but I can't
remember what it was.

Do you like them? Do you eat them?
