Please tell me you don't run a dishwasher for only
two plates and untensils

I can hand wash that in less than one minute.
Sheldon might take 10 minutes to do that
but he's old. I also let my things air dry.
Never stand there and towel dry like the Cleavers.

My wife is heading out to a conference and will be gone for two days. I
told her to leave her breakfast dishes in the sink and I will wash them
with mine. The dishwasher will not be used until after she gets back. I
prefer to take a couple minutes to do the dishes by hand.

Two for breakfast, two for lunch, two for dinner. Toss in a mixing
bowl, serving bowl, utensils, storage containers, cups, tumblers, and in
two days you have a full load. Drop a pod, push a couple of buttons and
in a few hours you have spotless sanitized dishes. No racks taking up
space on the counter, no contaminated towels.

I really don't get not using the dishwasher. I do as you do, I feel
washing dishes by hand is the dumbest job and I washed all I had to
before I had a dishwasher with 5 of us in the family. If I had to
part with one, I would part with the clothes washer before the
dishwasher :)

Halve and and double your figures respectively for me.
However, I iron my shirts:-)

Dishwasher for 5 people in family would have been so nice.
Using dishwasher now with just YOU living alone is silly.

Maybe you should let your dishwasher iron your shirts too.
Surely, the new ones can do that too. ;)

Have you been watching for the last month where "Jeopardy James"
nails all the questions?" He knows everything about everything
and it was not normal. He easily won all month with huge nightly
earnings.

Well last night, he was only one normal night (for him) away from
winning the all time winnings. Should have been the easiest thing
in the world for this guy.

He lost though, right at the brink of a record. He sat there and
didn't answer even the easiest of questions. He let the other two
answer most questions. At the end, final jeopardy question, he
was behind in money but he didn't even bet it all, just a small
portion.

That damn show is fake and rigged. Someone paid him off to lose
and not break the record. My proof of that was first not
answering many questions then in final question, he certainly
would have bet all the money (like 24K or so) but all he bet was
like 1.3K. WTF? That loss was preplanned.

I say, he was commanded to lose. He didn't like that, so he
wagered that silly low wage on the final question just to let
people know that he wasn't allowed to win. He's not that dumb.
That low wage was his protest. Hopefully they paid him well
though.

No more Jeopardy for me. "Fake News!" WTH???

That's right up there with "flood control", "good grief" and "ill
health". An oxymoron of the highest degree.

Just like the good old days in the US when they guys dressed up in white
robes and drove around in trucks with guns and lynched people or burned
crosses on their lawns.

That sounds good PLUS I've had in mind to make a tuna casserole
the last week or two. I always liked them well enough as long as
it's not too often. It has been maybe 10 years now (just guessing
but probably longer than that).

A good homemade tuna casserole is nothing for anyone to turn
their nose up about.

I have a question here. How do you make a still juicy fried egg
sunny side up? By time you get the whites all cooked, the yolk is
usually over cooked and not so juicy. That egg looked about
perfect though. Must be about cooking temperature.

I like a juicy egg over certain dishes but I always do a quick
over-easy to finish the raw white part and still leave the yolk
nice and juicy. Presentation isn't as good but it works well.

True oyster sauce seems to becoming a rarity.

Years ago, I usta buy the Lee Kum Kee real oyster sauce in their
traditional 240g jars. Even saw an old documentary on how it was made
(using real oysters).

Now, all I can seem to find is the Lee Kum Kee "oyster flavored" sauce,
in large bottles. Is all the oyster sauce now an "oyster flavored"
sauce? I can see it, oysters becoming more rare.

I jes noticed I'm also currently out of any soy sauce. I like the
Kimlan brand (Taiwan). Not available, locally, so I gotta order it,
online.

Soy is Chinese in origin. Kikkoman is Japanese. All Asian cultures
have their own favorite brand. ;)

Oysters are not becoming rare or threatened. Many are farmed now
so the supply will always be there. Nothing wrong with farmed
done in open seawater.

Hmmm... the next time I stop by a vegetable stand or a bakery,
I'll ask them if they might give me all the things I was willing
to buy. I'll remind them that they might feel better about that.

You might not be so old with your body, but you've
turned old in your head. Calling things childish often.

At age 40, I bought a pair of roller blades. My next door
neighbor (age 35) asked, "Aren't you a bit old for
those, Gary?" I was stunned.

Me: "Have you ever roller skated?"
Him: "Of course."
Me: "Did you enjoy it?"
Him: "Yes."
Me: "So why did you stop then?"
Him: That's only for little kids."

Then I guess he went back inside to act old and mature.
Meanwhile, I went to the boardwalk and skated for 5 miles, had
fun and got good exercise too. LOL

You've missed nothing. FoodTV has so deteriorated over the past few
years that it's no longer worth my time. It's mostly become a reality
show of fast food affecionado contestants. Today's celebrity chefs
are all show and no go, none can actually cook, evidensed by how they
mishandle common kitchen tools Those who own restaurants hire cooks
from third world countries to work the kitchen.

Many of the fancy schmancy NYC restaurants are owned by my neighbors
who have purchased farms here for raising pasture fed livestock and
growing organic... again the farm hands are from third world countries
with some local farmers doing the management. Besides supplying their
restaurants they also sell meat and produce locally.
