We desperately need tort reform, but whaddya going to do? The vast majority
of our "lawmakers" are lawyers. Hungry young lawyers, just coming into
their own, need more laws to make new ways to sue for infringement.
Here's my first solution. Loser pays in civil court. I think England has
something like that, and that rule would thin out the frivolity and
specious gambling on a favorable outcome somewhat. Second solution. One
judge's verdict should "not" set a precedent in the courts, even if
unchallenged higher up the judicial chain. One horse judges have far too
much power nationally. Remediation of lousy verdicts is minimal at best.

That's one way of looking at it. Another way is seeing our courts as a great equalizer between the average American citizen and large corporations. Tort reform really exists to stack the deck in favor of the corporations. Who the heck do you think is pushing tort reform? All that propaganda is just a scam to make you believe that it's grass-roots organizations wanting reform. That's a lie. People believe that our courts are awash with frivolous claims. I have no idea why people believe that. That just doesn't make any sense.

My way of looking at it: Your view of "large corporations" is precisely
my view of the "federal government". The corporations influence the
crooks that make our laws. It's called graft, but Congress has made sure
that it isn't by passing laws that make it legal. That legal construct is
a never argued congressional crime that has damaged our country and our
trust in each other.

No idea yet. I ate a very late breakfast. Maybe just an apple and peanut

Pozole rojo por las hermanas y cervezas por mi. Apologies for errors in my
mostly forgotten high-school Spanish. My spell-checker went crazy, but I
persevered.
I added a little cornstarch slurry to the pozole so it would stick better
to tortilla chips. Nobody complained. Oh, and the cerveza was/is Budweiser.
Yesterday was Star Wars Day, and today is Cinco de Mayo. The holidays just
keep rolling in.

I have made pozole. It sure seemed to be a lot of work. Of course I was flying blind since I've never had it made by neither Mexican nor gringo. I'm gonna have to go to New Mexico or thereabouts to taste the real stuff. There's a Mexican couple in the condo that would probably know. She calls me "sir." That's rather embarrassing.

That would be insulting to them. I would call them Maria and Juan. Ha ha, when they told me their names, I thought they were pulling my leg. They would call me "sir" or "mister David." Calling someone "sir" should be reserved only if one works in a hotel or in the hospitality industry - not in real life.

Because they're such standard names?

Yes. A 30 year old guy once called me sir, whereas the standard here
is "mate", for almost everybody. Maybe I have to dye my hair.

Buy a Ring doorbell and download the Ring App. You get all that stuff
within a five mile radius with glorious, motion activated, video. I
haven't joined the Ring neighborhood group but get it all anyway.
Sometimes, the TV news shows Ring videos that I've already seen as
criminal alerts. I generally check if it's the postman.
Don't set Ring sensitivity and have the ability to see every car and
person that passes far in front of your doorbell for a short period of
time. I am not promoting Ring. It just gives one a sense of insecurity.

You should be getting a sense of insecurity. That creep next door has hacked into your WiFi and is getting your video feed!

Meh, they can see my view of the street. Can you imagine what those
evildoers could do if you had a smart TV? You don't have one of those, do
you? If so, be very afraid. I have one, and I'm not, but you should be.
Don't you think?

Yes, it would be real nice if kuth could make one or two simple
posts each day, maybe just the usual "Fuck all of you. That is
all." Then wobble off 'til the next day.

I read them all, under "rooms/shared" because it's my I DO as a small business. Very small. I only make $500/mo as Bel Nor only legally limits me to two unrelated other household members.m Something I want to put to a vote to Bel Norians when I run for and become Mayor of Bel Nor after I retire here. I feel that each Bel Nor homeowner should autonomously decide how many if ANY renters they rent rooms to in THEIR homes so long as they do so responsibly, and NOT have it mandated to them in some ancient "law" which actually contains the text "(excluding servants)" because NO ONE TODAY has servants. That demeaning term should be stricken from the rules to which Bel Norians must adhere to, and as I said *I* will suggest it should be up to the AUTONOMY of each and every Bel Norians so long as they do so RESPONSIBLY!

Nope! Wrong AND incorrect. I just like looking at the 'rooms/shares' ads because it gives me a good look at who is offering rooms and shared living as I do and at what prices! I rarely see any as inexpensive as I charge. Some close, but most as people looking to make a LOT of money doing it like:

https://stlouis.craigslist.org/roo/d/chesterfield-room-for-rent-ask-for/7104913964.html

And the obvious scams like:

https://stlouis.craigslist.org/roo/d/saint-louis-singlecouple-both-okey/7107484263.html

WHO posts a super sexy FEMALE'S pic for an honest shared living situation. NO ONE!

Only twice, and I've been driving my Leaf since 2016! Most places, to and from. Work when I worked and will again when I get a job! How does everyone think I live so cheaply? *I* don't have to pump my wallet's contents into my gas tank like everyone else here! Plus my Leaf requires almost NO maintenance! No oil changes, coolant attention, etc. And the electric motor does NOT require a constant flow of OIL to keep it from grinding itself into metal shavings like your Internal Combustion POSMobiles!
