While I agree than home canning them is impractical, cooking fresh ones can be great. A few days ago, I made BBQ sauce from garden (cherry) tomatoes, a serrano pepper, and a bunch of other ingredients, including a little bottled black cherry juice. I think I went too heavy on the apple cider vinegar (I should have used half apple cider vinegar and half distilled vinegar), brown sugar and mustard powder, and a little tamarind might have improved it, but it was pretty good for a first attempt.

You can see every turn you made with that mower.  Did it's wheels fall off?

Lol, unbelievable. I'd call you a whiney old busybody washerwoman, but
that wouldn't be fair to old washerwomen.

The fat in the skin of sardines is very healthful. The only upside of skinless sardines is if you find the skin aesthetically unappealing.

So, tuna is the "chicken of the sea," and sardines are the *possum of the sea*?

The skin and bones don't bother me; it's all tasty!

That will detract from the authentic look of your roof, of course.

The troll has probably been back, not to post anything, just to see how
many people he sucked into replying.

And probably quite pleased with himself. But probably disappointed it
didn't generate pages and pages of replies.

It was shown with subtitles and I made sure to never miss an episode.

Great. Lots of Germans and French have seen movies with Jack
Nicholson, but have never heard his voice :)

Looks like you "dug" it with your car tire.

I guess that's true but it struck me as funny.

Somebody must have left that church lady cookbook while on a visit to the
South centuries ago. I encountered ambrosia when I was child, a loooooong
time ago.

There's another one that consists of pretzels, cream cheese, and Jell-O.
Does that sound right or have I fallen and suffered a concussion??

I agree. I haven't had Ambrosia since I was in my 20s

No, I've just read about that. It's something like Strawberry Pretzel
either dessert or salad. It's supposed to be quite tasty.

I have only a faint recollection of Waldorf salads from the 50s or 60s
and I am pretty darned sure they had those little coloured marshmallows
in them. That could explain why I never cared for them. Well, that,
the apples or the nuts.

I've had it but it was last century (no fooling, last century!) and
supposedly it's to be eaten with the meal and not as a dessert. Eh,
you can eat it whenever and with whatever you want as far as I'm
concerned. The pretzels offset the sweetness of the Jell-O.

I've never seen W.S. with marshmallows and I haven't seen a.n.y. dish
that contains the colored marshmallows.
