Yes, if you can retreat you should retreat. If you were trapped and had
no other choice, then OK. It based on Common Law.

I hope that one of them is The Name of the Rose. I remember that being
a good one but have not seen it in years.

In Canada who would be screwed for having a loaded gun in a car or
transporting a handgun without a licenses because licenses for people to
carry concealed handguns are rarer than hen's death. The argument
about the need for personal protection fails when you look at our
relative homicide rates. The US homicide rate is triple that of Canada.

Thankfully I live in a country where it was needed. As I pointed out in
my last post, the homicide rate in the US is triple that of Canada, so
that self defense thing is really helping much. FWIW... I have been
shot , but that was a careless hunter firing across a road.

I hear she hates Jews with a passion.

Great lady! Jews are scum and we have a right to hate them like anybody
else.

Good on Fox News for having her back.

Nonsense. If you want crepes, just thin down your pancake batter with
milk. I always make the thin pancakes, not the thicker cake-like kind.

Mine always have blueberries in them so I don't go too thin.

Not just one hotel. It was in every hotel breakfast bar that I have
stayed in over the last ten years where they had waffles. The waffles
were more like cookies than the waffles I make. Even Eggos are better.

You're a renowned chef. I'm sure yours give these a run for the money:

The current 21.5 is beyond his knowledge. :)

In real life, even without John's horrible history...
I would think that woman would be the first choice for a babysitter or a
nurse to care for a young child. I would lean that way myself.

What is a fair wage?

I agree that it takes some effort to improve your lifestyle. I would
never join a union because that would hold me back. That is me, maybe
you. We have the ability to go for the better job, take on more
responsibility and get ahead.

I've also encountered many people that lack the ability to do that, yet
are good workers, reliable and good at what they do, even if some skills
are minimal. What should they be paid? Is the federal $7.25 OK? The
company makes a hefty profit from their labors, should that profit be
shared?

Seems that some morals and ethics should be involved in setting labor
rates.

Lol, I joined a union in the early 70s. There was talk of striking
and I went to the meeting with a friend, the boss said that those who
picketed would be paid a small sum by the union for doing so.
Something about the way he said it, I asked if that included female
picketers, nope it didn't, we had husbands to support us! I switched
to a non-union job thereafter.

Really? Baked chicken thighs are boring to you? Try them with bbq sauce
for a change. Or...buffalo chicken thighs.

My parents had one of those. My mother used it a couple times.

I can't speak for anybody but me, but the freezer on my extra fridge has
two turkeys, 10 quarts of homemade spaghetti sauce, some frozen
fish and other meat, 6-7 pounds of butter, a bag of ice, maybe 4-5
bags of frozen dark cherries. And a few other item that don't come to mind
right now.

OTOH, a fair amount of the main fridge's freezer is taken up with
therapeutic ice packs.

"Strokes and flatters lonely needy idiot in private email" is a
common troll manipulation. The very opposite of "very nice people".
