What's the difference between Jilldoe and a 100lb pile of festering shit
filled with corn?

The corn.

That's exactly right. Poured into the skillet which was already hot
from the oven. Nice rise on it. It needed a little more salt than I
added, though. I'll add more next time.

Or perhaps he uses Jiffy mix in a glass 8x8 pan.

You're right, I do recall his likes Jiffy mix. No idea what he bakes it in.

Nope, a legitimate USA company.

I use the glass pyrex cups equally for both liquid and dry measurements.
I have a 1 cup, a 2 cup and a four cup glass measure.

I have those too but also a set from 1/4 to 1 cup. Different tool for
different uses. For years we had the same set of nesting plastic cups
but recently, the 1 cup went missing so I bought a new set of stainless
steel.

You need more than one for some jobs.

I just figured out where I had that sandwich.

http://halfshell-memphis.com/index.php/menu

Old Fashioned Monte Cristo

Pit-smoked ham, hickory smoked turkey and sliced provolone, egg-battered
and fried golden. Dusted with powdered sugar and served with honey
mustard sauce for dipping.

It wasn't served with honey mustard sauce back then, though. it may
have been swiss cheese. It was served with strawberry jam. I said no
thanks to the dusting of powdered sugar and ignored the jam.

Agree. At least here (Canada), we've done away with the old "Whadya know,
one buwwett left" scenarios like the one played out by Alec Baldwin
recently.

I thought you said "a nip of sugar". KFC cole slaw is cloyingly
sweet.

Cole slaw on a bun with vinegar-based bbq sauce? Something missing
here?

It was similar when I had it at a a couple of times at a restaurant in
Memphis. I don't remember the name of the restaurant, perhaps Huey's
East. The sandwich has layers of thinly sliced ham and thinly sliced
turkey with swiss cheese, battered and fried. I did ask them to hold
the powdered sugar sprinkling on the top. Did not use the souffle cup
of provided strawberry jam for dipping.

Lump Charcoal <charcolump7@gmail.com>: Feb 06 07:37AM -0800

Started off with a potato and zuchini latke. Yummy. Then, main course was a stir fry, mostly mushrooms, a few carrots and chick breast. Nice white rice simmered in a chicken broth. Dessert was coffee and marble cake.
One of these days, I'll learn to spell zuchinni. The stir fry sauce was low sodium soy sauce, and some kind of commercial stir fry sauce.

My Saturday lunch was hummas and a pita, and half a banana and some
grapes for dessert.

That is not true, Gary. Don't pretend to know what I think. I, for
one, enjoyed the precious few hours of silence last week without John's
posts about about his glabrous nads, etc. The "John and Bryan Show" is
nothing but constant rants about sexual proclivities and their 40-year
old childish high school angst. They both need to STFU and get over it.

You're the one who replied to a couple of my food posts saying I'm
trying to "generate" posts about food and cooking. Well yes! What's
the name of this group again? Rec.Food.Cooking.

Nah. Trump is still here and already campaigning. He's sure to run again
in 2024. I don't think he'll win but I'll bet you he does get quite a
bit of votes.

He may still be around and he may try to run again, but I stand by my

The majority of your posts are about John (and his cooking). What value
