The city paid some artist to come up with this statue and stuck in the city
park that is two blocks from my house. It's called 'melting bird' or some-
thing like that. All it looks like to me is snot dripping off its' beak.

Of course when I say the 'city paid some artist' that really means we tax payers
paid for this very large aluminum bird on a pedestal.

You have nothing to complain about!!
Look at these:

Can$500k

Can$470k
1% of the cost of a big project has to go towards public "art".
Sometimes they pick a good piece.

Evidently they did not ask the taxpayers to vote on it. That is one
strange bird.

Many towns/states have that 1% deal. I can appreciate some forms of art
but a big blue ring does not arouse me at all.

It aroused much anger in Calgary. I think a German artist but it was
fabricated here.

I kept clicking on your pictures and they finally did show up, SORRY.

But they do have me scratching my head as I'm probably guessing the residents
were also scratching theirs.

It might have been more impressive had it been situated elsewhere.
Sitting in the middle of the highway it just looks like the remnants of
a construction or demolition job.

I quite like the idea behind it (which is more than I can say about the
ring) but it's really, really ugly and is on the Trans-Canada at the
western edge of the city.

Reno has become a dumping ground for old "Burning Man" sculptures.
Google "reno sculptures" to see a bunch. We even have a "Space Whale".
The area's oldest and best sculpture is a black widow made from a
Volkswagen. Well...at least it's the best to me. Google "reno spider"
to see it. The spider predates Burning Man by fifteen years and moves
around a lot. Nobody wants it. Nobody wants to get rid of it.

Highrise ...really? You don't have to have a basement to keep the
bees happy? What about if yoose live in a goat barn?

Druce, yoose can't really tell if it's a buttload, or a shitload
unless yoose get calipers and measure the diameters of john and
Popeye's assholes.

Unless, of course, yoose have already made the measurements.

The USDA just yesterday released corn forecast for July (predicting
a bad year for corn). Texas and Florida are the first ones to
harvest corn, and that isn't for another month. We have it sale
here in Texas 6/$1 this week, but its from Mexico.

I could have sworn there were two corn season in California, at
least. I used to live next across the street from the last
cornfield in Sunnyvale, "Corn palace" and I'm pretty damned sure we
stole^H^H^H^H^H could buy corn twice a year. Looks like they're
finally getting ready to bulldoze it.

https://www.svvoice.com/sunnyvales-corn-palace-up-for-development/

Also lived next to Olson's Cherry Farm, the last Cherry Farm, in
Sunnyvale. That got bulldoze in the 1990's

So I don't know where you got your corn. Probably from Mexico.

Wouldn't water make the sauce too watery? But I don't have any suggestions with
what to use to calm down the heat of the sauce. Is Texas Pete hot sauce overly
hot?

"MalagueƱa" was my goal. A very poor rendition of "Alice's Restaurant"
was the best I ever did. Then I put the guitar away. I still have it
though. A early seventies Yamaha. It probably needs strings.
