Ah , but these stories are true , unlike most of your spew . I've
noticed , we criticize most in others that which we dislike the most
about ourselves ...

Gee , if only I had one ! Though I'm not sure they're capable of the
ranges I usually shoot small furry critters - disclaimer : Those small
animals , and snakes too , are safe as long as they stay out of my
garden (SFM's) and at a reasonable distance from the house and areas
close to it (snakes) . A copperhead in the flowerbeds is NOT a good
thing when I go out to pull weeds .

the keyboard is fine. i just use lower case intentionally. it's the keypad that's problematic. a solution might be to just purchase a mouse.

The tiny laptop keyboard annoys the hell out of me.

What are you? Some small girlie-girl motorcycle driver?

ALL the BBQ chicken is gone (eaten!), and now we're down to a 2-rib Porcine Intercostal Set and a bunch of BRATS!

I'll have to do a 22" Weber Kettle CHICKEN ONLY!

I'm going to guess those brown girls do not eat pork; many Indians don't.
Chicken, yes; pork, no.

pork schnitzel. the polish deli where i get the schnitzels from are of a good;quality. very tender; of course they've been run through a tenderizer. i still pound them to get them thinner. one of these days i'll try panko breadcrumbs. and corn on the cob, and fried cauliflower.
corn on the cob is now 25 cents per cob CDN. at a super market: freshco. also solid tuna 7 ounce can, unico brand is on for $1 per can.

Say, what? That's like not liking the smell of cilantro or SPAM.

I LOVE cardamom. I buy "desiccated" (no pods) green cardamom. There is
also black cardamom (black pods), but that's fer advanced Indian cooking.

The seeds within the pods (pods are green) are black, so buy
"desiccated" cardamom, which is mostly what's used. I grind the black
seeds in a old whirly bird coffee grinder (dedicated to spices) and
occasionally put it in my coffee (Turkish coffee often includes
cardamom). Time to grind some more, as the ground stuff I have is kinda
old. The flavor diminishes quickly in both the whole seeds and even
faster in ground seeds.

I particularly like cardamom in sweets. I once bought some baklava from
a Middle Eastern store and could not identify the peculiar flavor it
contained. I thought it might be one of the many floral flavors popular
in Middle Eastern food. Turns out it was cardamom. I've loved it, ever
since.

I always keep some on hand. ;)

This is a weekly pointer to the rec.food.cooking FAQ and conversion
file. If you do not want to see it every week, you should put the
title, which will not change, into your killfile.

The rec.food.cooking FAQ and conversion file is posted monthly to
rec.food.cooking, rec.food.recipes, rec.answers and news.answers. It is
also available as an easy-to-navigate frames version at

There is both a link to a no-frames version and a built-in no-frames
content for older or text-only browsers.

The rec.food.cooking FAQ and conversion file has two parts. The first
part covers conversion and equivalence. Tables are given for conversion
of oven temperatures, food names, weights and measures. Some useful
substitutions for unavailable ingredients are suggested.

The second part is more descriptive. It outlines some of the commonly
discussed topics of rec.food.cooking and explains a number of food
terms. It also lists other food-related newsgroups and mailing lists,
as well as food-related FAQs, recipe archives and other food/cooking
sites.

The original Texas Pete is way hotter than Frank's but they do
sell many variations now. I always buy Franks. I don't think it's
too hot. Never tried it on corn though. I would try maybe mixing
a bit of sour cream with the Franks, not much. The dairy will
calm down the heat. Don't know if that's good, just a thought.

Yay, xanthan gum! Nobody leaves the house without xanthan gum! And
benzoate of soda sounds like something that's always been missing in
my life!

My teacher's teacher was a renown music educator in Germany. He transcribed MalagueƱa but I never got any of that. The German guy played a concert in Hawaii. He opened with an absolutely brilliant Bach piece. He ripped that piece off like he was on a Sunday drive. Then he brought his wife on stage to make some noises using her mouth. That was "interesting", arousing, and pretty much an example to kids to stay away from LSD!

I'm not good enough to perform in concert but you can probably learn the piece yourself if you're interested. Good luck! :)

Art is so personal though. A city should actually hold a citizen
vote for expensive art like that. Show several choices and just
let the people vote.

The first next to a highway, looked like a pic from Road Warriors
with ruins from a lost civilization. heheh "The onramp to the
apocalypse" ;)

The second one (circle) just lame and blah. Maybe a mobius strip
might have been a bit better?

Virginia Beach did an art sculpture a few years ago (or more).
It's right near me. They built a traffic circle and placed this
in the center. It's unpainted aluminum and looks somewhat ugly
during the day. However, at night they shine blue spotlights on
it and....it looks pretty cool as blue.

Don't know what they paid for that but certainly not cheap. I
drive by the darn thing most days. It weird too but I do like
this one. Sorry about the tiny pic on this link:
