You must have the Bothell breed of raccoons. Around here raccoons
don't attack cats (much). Probably because the noise of the fight
will attract the coyotes, which will come and eat both of them.

How long will that 44-pound bag of flour last you?

22 pounds. Should last 2/3 months. When Himself is here, it doesn't last
nearly as long, but currently, we're on opposite sides of the Atlantic :(

OOPS! Not sure where I thought you wrote 20 kilos, my bad.

Maybe by the time you need more bread flour it will be reappearing on
the shelves without it being immediately snapped up.

Grow your own wheat and make your own flour.

I have a batch of dough on it's first rise right now ... and just today
I opened the 2nd half of the last 50 lb bag of baking flour I bought a
few months ago ... the first batch is for hamburger buns , I'll also be
making hot dog buns , loaf bread , and a batch of dinner rolls to go
with the beef-n-barley soup I'll be making for our dinner . I was going
to do the bread thing this morning , but got busy making some outer top
covers for the bee hives . I'm a bit behind on building stuff for the
new hives .

I hope so. I've checked Amazon, and what little they have (marketplace
sellers) is being offered at totally exorbitant prices.

I've got a Kitchenaid tilt-head stand mixer and they are heavy. Mine
resides covered on top of my refrigerator and I have to get a stepstool
out in order to reach it and put it away.

Has she tried the cowboy cookies yet? A quarter cup measure is used to
dish them out onto a cookie pan.

I found that if I had to drag my mixer or my FP out from storage - I
didn't. So I arranged to keep them both out on the counter. Now they get
used many times a week.

That's what happens when LAZY idiots allow house cats outside... very
obviously yours were not feral cats... were they feral cats they'd
know very well how to deal with raccoons and other wild critters...
house cats haven't a clue about how to survive outdoors.
Learn how to clean litter pans and you'd not have to let your house
cats outside.

Yours were definitely not feral cats, they are ordinary house cats....
house cats haven't any outdoor survival skills, none!

those cats were born outdoors to a feral female.

These are two raccoons new to the neighborhood because previous
raccoons hung out with the cats and dogs. I'm thinking about alerting
Fish and Game to possible rabies.

I'm very sorry to hear this. No wonder you feel weepy.

You mentioned in another reply possibly contacting Fish & Game. I think
that's a good idea. Raccoons can be nasty, sure, but going after two
cats two nights in a row sounds a bit aberrant.

I can understand this if you live in a subdivision. But if no near neighbors
I'd kill them then drag them off to the woods or bury them far away from the
house.

You probably should apply for an orderly position. More likely to
be hired with your history.
