Isn't that the same as not wearing it?

It is starting to look like we will have mandatory masks here within the
next week. I have a hard time finding masks that fit so I will stick
with a bandana. I am going to be pissed if I have to wear a mask and
people are walking around with their masks pulled down below their nose
or if they keep handling their masks and then touching common objects,
since that defeats the purpose.

Maybe use a bed sheet.

Could be. It's either pull it down under my nose or mow people down since
I can't see them through my fogged up glasses.

Baloney. If he was sooooo serious the shit-for-brains mayor would not have
advocated a march of 10,000+ people just when things were barely starting
to get better. You think everybody in those marching, looting, vandalizing
crowds were wearing masks? You think those people were automatically protected from the person standing shoulder to shoulder in those crowds because they
were wearing a mask??

I've got some lovely oceanfront property you'd be interested in located in
Alice Springs. Better hurry up and make me an offer before all the surfers
snap it up. Of course, it has lovely ocean breezes.

Yes, that was stupid, but your president organises mass meetings too.
And is disappointed when only a few people show up. he also refuses to
wear a face mask. His brother in arms, Bolsonaro of Brazil, now has
covid.

According to Drumpf, covid infection is a very minor ailment.

Evidently our dipshit mayor thought it was, too. All this setback in
town over a dead thug.

I agree. I'm sure there is a lot of racism all over the world and this
police man committed a murder. But this is not the time for mass
demonstrations or mass anything.

Idiocy abounds. Maybe she thought you wouldn't be able to hear her with
the mask on. (You should be wearing one, though.)

If it's hard to breathe without a mask I can understand it could be more
difficult with a mask. I don't mind wearing a mask; the thing about the
mask that bugs me is my glasses keep fogging up. :(

It is amazing, isn't it? I've mentioned my Aunt who had been legally
blind (not to be confused with totally blind) for years due to juvenile
onset diabetes. She had many recurrences of cataracts over the years.
The last time she was told she needed cataract surgery she balked. She
told the doctor she was tired of having eye surgery. This was when
lasic was still a fairly new procedure. The doctor said, "You don't
understand, I think I can really help you!" Her friend talked her into
the surgery. She called me on the phone afterwards, absolutely
thrilled. "Jill! I can SEE! And your Uncle was a liar... he always
said I was beautiful." LOL Sadly, she only got to enjoy her newfound
eyesight briefly. She died of a heart attack six months later. :(

I wait to put mine on right before I get out of the car to go into a
store. I take if off when I'm back in the car and heading home. Yes,
the eyeglass fogging thing is annoying as hell. Today it was pouring
down rain on top of everything else. 'Tis the rainy season here. It's
hard enough to see in a downpour, especially when there are idiots
driving grey or dark cars who don't bother to follow the law and turn on
their headlights. I'm not going to wear a mask in my car and double the
chances of not seeing a car because my glasses are fogged up.

That's not what I meant at all. I use my teeth to crack them open, just
like I would unshelled sunflower seeds. The boiled peanut shells are
soft but you aren't supposed to eat the shell!

I've seen some in convenience stores that proudly claim they should
be eaten shell and all. I don't remember the brand and didn't get them.

In the southeast portion of my county Covid-19 is rampant, I do mean
rampant. That portion of the county houses a large, LARGE, L.A.R.G.E.,
portion of immigrants. Eight, ten, twelve, or more live in 2 bedroom
apartments. Such close quarters they are going to be passing it amongst
their own families and being immigrants they're going to congregate with
their friends and family who speak the same language. Gary hasn't a clue
how many people live by choice or forced to live in conditions they'd rather
not.

That's also why workers at meat packing and chicken plant were so
badly affected everywhere. Most of them are "immigrants" of one
sort or another.

Appropos of nothing, there is a communal mailbox like that in the strip
mall where I worked at H&R Block last year. The people I worked with
(one woman, Estella, had been there 30 years) had no idea we even had a
mailbox. All the mail was supposed to be delivered to the larger H&R
office on the other side of town. One day someone from the USPS came in
and said they were going to re-key all those boxes because they had a
new mail carrier taking over that route; how many keys would we need?
Estella said "We have a mailbox?" LOL

Subject to interpretation of "free". Constitutionally we are a nation
of laws. 49 states based on English common law, but Louisiana is based
on French and Spanish laws. Most citizens have no idea what they can
and cannot to, even with freedom of speech.

While that junk mail is delivered for a lower cost than first class mail
it is a major source of revenue for the post office and actually
subsidizes the cost of real mail. I would say that 80% of the stuff
than ends up in my mail box is junk mail, so Canada Post gets something
to cover the cost of sending a mail truck down our road 5 days a week
instead of relying solely on the 3-4 pieces of actual mail I get each week.
